Instructions for New Covenant Church Services:

9:00 am Service (Outdoor Service, congregational singing)

10:30am Service (Indoor Service, congregational singing)

Before you register, please read the guidelines below.

GUIDELINES

As you know, Governor Pritzger has started Phase 4 of the reopening plan in Illinois. This change allows churches to open with limited capacity and specific safety protocols. Our goal is to make sure that everyone feels safe and comfortable in returning to NCC’s church services. So we’re following the state’s COVID-19 guidelines. Thus, the services will look a bit different from what we’re all used to at New Covenant.

Here are some NCC specifics you need to know:

  • While we are trying very hard to avoid the spread of COVID-19 by being as clean as possible, you need to know that it is impossible to maintain a sterile environment. Please note that you are joining the church service at your own risk.
  • Signage will instruct those who are sick or have been in contact with known COVID patients to stay home and refrain from attending worship service for 14 days in case of contact with a case of COVID or 14 days after all symptoms abate, in the case of infection.
  • Masks are mandatory inside and outside the building. It is still advisable to cough or sneeze into the arm, as opposed to the hand. You may remove your mask for our outdoor services once you are in your designated circle.
  • Everyone will be encouraged to wash their hands before attending a service, to avoid touching their faces, to refrain from shaking hands, hugging, or touching others outside of their immediate families, in any way.
  • All restrooms will be wiped down after each person uses the restroom, by that person, using disinfectant and wipes provided. A more thorough cleaning will happen between worship services.
  • Door knobs and pew rails will be wiped between services.
  • There will be no childcare or Sunday school classes. Diapers should be changed in the main floor bathrooms and the changing station should be wiped thoroughly with using disinfectant and wipes provided after each use.
  • There will be no communion at this time, and there will be no singing for the inside worship service.
  • Refreshments will not be available, but a social time will be held after the worship service, on the south lawn. Please remain six feet apart from all non-family members.

RSVP

  • Our seat reservation forms will be open until Saturday at 9 a.m. for the service of that week. At this time service seating is limited. If a service meets capacity, the link will no longer work. We are asking everyone who wants to attend to register with us each week. A video option for home worship will also be available.
  • You must reserve seats for each Sunday service you are attending. If you do not reserve a seat for you and each member of your family, we may not be able to accommodate you on Sunday morning.
  • Every service will be less than an hour in length, and strict cleaning procedures will occur between each service.

PRECAUTIONS:

BEFORE CHURCH

  • Please use your restroom at home.
  • Please take your temperature at home before leaving for church. If you have symptoms of any kind, please do not attend in person. Instead, choose to watch the service online.
  • Please arrive 20 minutes early to check in.

AT CHURCH

  • After you park according to the attendant’s instructions, head to the check-in by the front door, and we’ll guide you from there.
  • Please wear masks inside and outside, and observe appropriate social distancing during our time together. You may remove your mask at our outdoor services once you are in your designated circle.
  • Choose your social distanced assigned seating and allow the usher to seat you.
  • Please obey all signs and follow all traffic-flow instructions.
  • Please use the church restrooms only in an emergency.
  • Please use the designated trash can.
  • Please use the designated offerings box for your gifts.
  • Every service will be less than an hour in length, and strict cleaning procedures will occur between each service.
  • We will be creating a touchless environment that includes no bulletins, no passed offering baskets, and no need to open doors or touch handles.
  • In order to maintain the recommended social distancing during the services, we will practice one-way travel through the building and will be leaving four open seats between every family group seated in the sanctuary.
  • We will not provide coffee at this time.

AFTER CHURCH

You will have a dedicated area outside after the service for a time of social distanced fellowship.
